LISTENING TO THE FOOTFALLS OF A FLY
Two University of California physicists lately have completed a new and sensitive sound magnifying
instrument whereby the pittcrpatter of a fly's footsteps on the ceiling, the wiggling of a woodborer in the
heart of an old oak, the beating of the human heart and many other small sounds are made plainly
audible.
