T H E woman with the artistic
temperament exclaims, "Don't
show me an automobile with
that horrid-looking top on it;
neither do I want to see an
ugly looking spare wheel spoiling the
so that we can conceal things by it. Last
year the taboo was strongly put on any
suggestion of machinery showing. But
this year we must completely conceal the
spare wheel, the tool boxes, the top
itself, on the touring cars and runabouts.

In fact, the automobile seems to
be presented to us this year mainly
and last but not least, one automobile
completely conceals its tonneau.
Body designers, although they have
not greatly changed the general shapes
of cars this year, have put in some very
busy days in refining patterns already
