FROSTING HEADLIGHTS
M O W that a number of States and
municipalities throughout the Union
have passed laws requiring the dimming
of headlights, on certain occasions, a
demand has arisen for frosted headlight
glasses, particularly for glasses in which
the upper half is frosted.
To do the work a box is required, as
shown, with half of the top of glass.
The rest of the top and the upper part
of the front of the box are of cloth. A
sand box or pail is suspended from the

ceiling and a pipe is led from it to join
the compressed air pipe, which is horizontal.
The glass that is to be frosted
is placed in the back of the box and the
sand and compressed air turned on. The
powerful stream of fine sand is shot
against the glass. If half of the glass
is to be frosted, a piece of pasteboard
may be pasted over the other half. If
fancy designs, initials, or other patterns
are to be frosted on the glass, a piece of
heavy paper, in which the pattern has
been cut, is pasted over the glass, and
the sand stream is then turned on.
There is good money in such work,
and it is a cheap, but effective outfit, that
will do all the work demanded of it.

SOMETHING NEW FOR SPARK
PLUGS
A LL the slow and messy job of clean-
^^ ing spark plugs of carbon deposit
and encrusted oil is now a bore belonging
to bygone days, according to the manufacturers
of another handy device for
motorists. The new instrument consists
of a heavy glass tube, closed at one end
and threaded at the other to take the
spark plug exactly as would the cylinder.
The tube is loosely packed with long
heavy needles, and is half-filled with
gasoline before the dirty spark plug is
screwed in.
When the spark plug is in place, the
whole is shaken up and down vigorously
for a short time, and the job is completed.
The long needles striking against
the face of the plug pick off the oil,
and the splashing gasoline washes it
away. The device is very inexpensive
and comes packed in a wooden box as a
protection against heavy blows of any
sort.

MOTORCYCLE SEAT FOR TWO
THERE is probably no motorcycle
made which is not strong enough to
carry more than one person. This new
double seat can be attached easily and
quickly. It is comfortable and easy to
ride on, allows passenger and rider to sit
side by side, and it will fit any machine.
It has but one point of fastening. It is
so balanced that it will carry one person
just as safely as two. It has a three-point
bearing on the frame of the machine.
