Using Maintenance mode<br />

This feature lets you place devices in Maintenance mode. Any device placed in Maintenance<br />

mode will not be polled, actions will not be triggered, and logging activity is disabled, but it<br />

remains in the device list with an identifying icon. By default, the maintenance state is<br />

represented by an orange background color.<br />

Map View<br />

To put a device into maintenance mode:<br />

1 Click the Devices tab.<br />

2 Click Devices. The device list appears.<br />

3 In the Details View or Map View, right-click a device, then click Properties. The Device<br />

Properties dialog appears.<br />

4 Click Polling.<br />

5 Select Force this device into maintenance mode now.<br />

Change the scheduled maintenance setting for the device:<br />

Click Add to schedule a new maintenance time for the device.<br />

Select an existing entry, then click Edit to change a scheduled time.<br />

Select an existing entry, then click Remove to delete a scheduled time from the<br />

list.<br />

6 Click OK to save the change.<br />

Changing the device polling frequency<br />

The default polling interval is 60 seconds. You can change this setting on each device.<br />

To change the polling frequency for a device:<br />

1 Click the Devices tab.<br />

2 Click Devices. The device list appears.<br />

3 In the Details View or Map View, right-click a device, then click Properties. The Device<br />

Properties dialog appears.<br />

4 Click Polling. The Polling, Maintenance and Dependencies page appears.<br />

5 Change the interval in the Poll Interval box.<br />

6 Click OK to save changes.<br />

Stopping and starting monitor polling<br />

To stop and start polling on a per-monitor basis:<br />

1 Click the Devices tab.<br />

2 Click Devices. The device list appears.<br />
