Accessing the web interface<br />

You can connect to the <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> web interface from any supported browser by<br />

entering the <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> web address. This web address consists of the hostname of the<br />

<strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> host and the web server port number.<br />

For example, if your <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> host is named monitor1.ipswitch.com, and it is<br />

connected to default port 80 then the web address is:<br />

http://monitor1.ipswitch.com<br />

- or -<br />

http://monitor1.ipswitch.com:80<br />

Note: When you use the default web server port (80), you do not have to include the port in<br />

the address, but all other ports require the port number following the url.<br />

There are two default users on the Web server:<br />

Account type <strong>User</strong>name Password<br />

Administrator admin admin<br />

Guest guest <br />

Note: Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) is used for the <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> web server.<br />

About the <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> web interface<br />

The <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> web interface allows you to view and modify most <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> features<br />

from a web browser. You can discover network devices; configure monitors, alerts, and<br />

actions; view reports for devices and groups of devices, manage admin features, and more in<br />

the <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> web interface.<br />
