<strong>Ipswitch</strong> <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> <strong>User</strong> <strong>Guide</strong><br />

You can control the number of graphs appearing in the dashboard by changing the<br />

Maximum number of graphs to draw setting. Some devices have numerous interfaces, and<br />

displaying all of them can be too resource-intensive for <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong>. Displayed interfaces<br />

are selected based on the order they are received from the database when the number of<br />

interfaces present exceeds the Maximum number of graphs to draw setting.<br />

Note: The Interface Traffic report updates the units of measure displayed based on the traffic<br />

received over the interface. Units are determined per interface, however, and both outgoing<br />

and incoming traffic are evaluated to determine the unit of measure displayed. The smallest<br />

unit of measure is used in the report. For example, if the incoming traffic is measured in Kbps,<br />

but the outgoing traffic is measured in bps, then the dashboard report uses bps as the unit of<br />

measure for the graph for that interface.<br />

To configure this dashboard report in <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong>:<br />

1 In the title bar of the dashboard report pane, select Menu > Configure. The Configure<br />

Report dialog appears.<br />

2 Enter or select the appropriate information for the following fields.<br />

Report name. Enter a title for the dashboard report.<br />

Device. Select a device by clicking the Browse (...) button.<br />

Date range. Select a date range from the drop-down menu. The default is 4 hours.<br />

Graph type. Select the type of graph you would like the report to display.<br />

Trend type. Select the type of trend you would like the report to use.<br />

Dimensions. Select the dimension in which you would like the graph to display.<br />

Width. Enter a width for the report (in pixels).<br />

Height. Enter a height for the report (in pixels).<br />

Vertical Axis Scaling. Select either auto or fixed scale.<br />

Min. Enter a number for the lowest point on the Y-axis.<br />

Max. Enter a number for the highest point on the Y-axis.<br />

Maximum number of graphs to draw. Enter the maximum number of interface<br />

utilization graphs you want to display.<br />

Graph the maximum. Select this option to display a graph of the maximum value<br />

over the selected time period.<br />

3 Click OK to save changes.<br />
