4 View selectors. Choose the way you want to view your device groups. Each of these<br />

views are explained in detail later in this chapter.<br />

Device View. This view provides an overview of each device and subgroup in a<br />

selected device group.<br />

Map View. This view shows a graphical representation of the devices and subgroups<br />

in a selected device group.<br />

WhatsVirtual. This tab displays the Whats Virtual plug-in. You must have<br />

WhatsVirtual licensed and enabled for this View to display. To upgrade your license to<br />

include WhatsVirtual, visit the <strong>Ipswitch</strong> customer portal (http://www.myipswitch.com).<br />

5 Polling Indicator Icons. These icons indicate the current state of the poll engine.<br />

Poll engine is connected Poll engine is not connected Polling is enabled Polling is disabled<br />

6 Database Size Indicator Icon. This icon shows the current size of your database. The<br />

color and shape changes according the database size thresholds:<br />

About the Task Tray and Desktop Actions icon<br />

49% and below<br />

50% to 74%<br />

75% and above<br />

<strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> installs two task bar icons on your computer.<br />

The Task Tray icon alerts you to the status of the application as a whole.<br />

The Desktop Actions icon displays to indicate that the application for Sound and<br />

Text-to-Speech actions is turned on.<br />

Note: Desktop Actions must be running for the Sound and Text-to-Speech actions to work.<br />

<strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> Icons<br />

During normal operation, the Task Tray icon displays the worst state of all devices on your<br />

map.<br />

Tip: You can enable tooltips to have the icon display any state change that occurs on the<br />

system. To do this, right-click on the icon and select or clear Enable Tooltips.<br />
