<strong>Ipswitch</strong> <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> <strong>User</strong> <strong>Guide</strong><br />

Tip: Select Show rights inherited from group membership + user rights to show the user<br />

rights the user will inherit from membership in the groups selected in the Member of box.<br />

The first column of check boxes in the <strong>User</strong> Rights list indicates the user rights acquired<br />

through group membership.<br />

7 Select the <strong>User</strong> rights that you want to grant to the user account. For more<br />

information, see About <strong>User</strong> Rights.<br />

Tip: You can click Check all to select all of the available user rights.<br />

Note: If you grant the Manage <strong>User</strong>s right, the user account will acquire all user rights.<br />

8 Click OK. The user account is added to the user account list on the Manage <strong>User</strong>s dialog.<br />

Adding and editing user groups<br />

Use the Add <strong>User</strong> Group or Edit <strong>User</strong> Group dialog to create or edit a user group. When<br />

creating or editing a user group, you can:<br />

Name the group.<br />

Choose the default language which will be displayed in the web interface for<br />

members of the group.<br />

Select group rights.<br />

You must have the Manage <strong>User</strong> right to add or edit a user group.<br />

To add or edit a user group:<br />

1 Navigate to the Add <strong>User</strong> Group dialog.<br />

a) Navigate to the Manage <strong>User</strong>s dialog (Admin > Manage <strong>User</strong>s). The Manage <strong>User</strong>s<br />

dialog appears.<br />

b) In the <strong>User</strong> Group area, click New or select a group and click Edit. The Add <strong>User</strong> Group<br />

or Edit <strong>User</strong> Group dialog appears.<br />

2 In the <strong>User</strong> group box, type the name of the user group. This name will appear on the<br />

user group list when the group is created.<br />

3 In the Language box, type the language you would like to use as the default display<br />

language for this group.<br />

Note: If the <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> user group has been mapped to an Active Directory group, the<br />

AD group will be displayed in the AD groups list. Any user that authenticates from one of the<br />

AD groups mapped to the <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> user group will appear as a user in the Members<br />

box.<br />

Note: All users that are members of the group will be displayed in the Members box.<br />
