Diagnostic Tool<br />

This tool diagnoses problems within your database by running a diagnostic scan.<br />

To use the Diagnostic Tool:<br />

1 To begin the scan, click the Diagnostic button.<br />

2 After you have looked over and noted any problems, click Close.<br />

To print the report, click the printer icon in the upper right corner of the window.<br />

Re-enabling the Telnet protocol handler<br />

The Telnet protocol handler is disabled by default in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7. In order to<br />

use the Telnet tool in <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong>, you need to re-enable the Telnet protocol.<br />

To re-enable the Telnet protocol:<br />

1 Click Start > Run. The Run dialog box opens.<br />

2 In the Open box, enter: Regedit, then click OK. The Registry Editor opens.<br />

3 Go to the following key:<br />

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet<br />

Explorer\Main\FeatureControl<br />

4 Under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet<br />

Explorer\Main\FeatureControl, create a new key named<br />

FEATURE_DISABLE_TELNET_PROTOCOL.<br />

5 Add a DWORD value named iexplore.exe and set the value to 0 (decimal).<br />

6 Close the Registry Editor and restart Microsoft Internet Explorer. The Telnet protocol is<br />

enabled.<br />

Selecting a Performance Monitor Type<br />

Use the picklist to select one of the following performance monitor types; after selecting the<br />

monitor type, click OK.<br />
