Problem Areas: Tail of Windows Event Log<br />

This dashboard report displays the tail (last 10 records) of the Windows Event Log. Placing<br />

this dashboard report in a dashboard displays system-wide Windows events. For more<br />

information, this dashboard report is linked to the Windows Event Log, which shows<br />

Windows events logged during the time period displayed at the bottom of the report.<br />

Note: In order for entries to be added to this report, the Windows Event Log listener must be<br />

enabled. For more information on the Windows Event Log listener, see Enabling the Windows<br />

Event Log Listener (on page 874).<br />

Date. The date and time the event was received by <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong>.<br />

Device. The device or program that originated the entry.<br />

WinEvent Type. The type of Windows Event.<br />

Payload. The vital data (such as the event name, the IP address that the event came<br />

from, date of the event, etc.) that is passed with the event message.<br />

To configure this dashboard report in <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong>:<br />

1 In the title bar of the dashboard report pane, select Menu > Configure. The Configure<br />

Report dialog appears.<br />

2 Enter or select the appropriate information for the following fields.<br />

Report name. Enter a title for the dashboard report.<br />

Maximum rows to return. Enter the number of records you would like displayed in<br />

the dashboard report.<br />

Column 2 width. Enter a width for the Device column in pixels.<br />

Column 4 width. Enter a width for the Payload column in pixels.<br />

3 Click OK to save changes.<br />

Problem Areas: Unacknowledged Devices<br />

This home-level dashboard report displays unacknowledged devices in a specific group.<br />

Adding this dashboard report to a dashboard alerts you of unacknowledged devices in a<br />

group at a glance, allowing you to quickly resolve issues.<br />

Device. The network device.<br />

Device Type. The type of device.<br />

Unacknowledged For. The amount of time the device has gone unacknowledged.<br />

In Maintenance. Either Yes or No.<br />

To configure this dashboard report in <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong>:<br />

1 In the title bar of the dashboard report pane, select Menu > Configure. The Configure<br />

Report dialog appears.<br />
