Configuring a Windows Event Log threshold<br />

To configure a Windows Event Log threshold:<br />

1 Click the Alert Center tab.<br />

2 Click Threshold Library. The Alert Center Threshold Library dialog appears.<br />

3 Click New. The Select Threshold Type dialog appears.<br />

4 Select Windows Event Log, then click OK. The Windows Event Log Threshold dialog<br />

appears.<br />

5 Specify or select the appropriate information in the dialog fields:<br />

Name. Specify a name for the threshold. This name helps you identify the threshold in<br />

the Threshold library and displays as the report title on the Alert Center Home page.<br />

Windows event type. Select the Windows Event Log monitor to use with this<br />

threshold. The list is populated with Windows Event Log monitors currently<br />

configured in the Passive Monitor Library.<br />

Threshold. Select and enter the desired threshold criteria variables and values. The<br />

default threshold is configured to alert when the number of events exceeds 500 in the<br />

past 60 minutes.<br />
