Having problems with your WMI monitor returning false negatives?<br />

Adding and editing a WMI Performance Monitor<br />

From here you can update the name and description of the performance monitor and open<br />

the WMI Performance Counter tree.<br />

To add or edit a WMI performance monitor:<br />

1 Click the Admin tab, then click Monitor Library. The Monitor Library dialog appears.<br />

2 Click the Performance tab. The Performance Monitor list appears.<br />

3 Click New and select WMI Performance Monitor from the list to create a new WMI<br />

performance monitor. Click OK.<br />

Select the WMI performance monitor you want to change from the list of current<br />

monitors, and then click Edit.<br />

4 Type or select the appropriate information in the following fields.<br />

Name. Type a name for the monitor. This name displays in the Performance Monitor<br />

Library.<br />

Description. Type a short description for the monitor. This description displays next<br />

to the monitor in the Performance Monitor Library.<br />

Browse (...). Connects to the WMI Performance Counter tree.<br />

Performance counter/Instance. Click the browse (...) button next to this box to select<br />

a performance counter (on page 322) for the monitor.<br />

5 Click OK to save changes.<br />

Enabling global performance monitors<br />

In order for a performance monitor to gather performance data from a device, it must be<br />

enabled on that device. You can enable a monitor on a single device (on page 254) through the<br />

Device Properties dialog, or enable a monitor on multiple devices (on page 255) through the<br />

Bulk Field Change feature.<br />

Enabling a global performance monitor on a single device<br />

To enable a global performance monitor for a single device:<br />

1 In Device or Map View, right-click a device, then select Properties. The Device<br />

Properties dialog appears.<br />

2 Click Performance Monitors. The Device Properties - Performance Monitors dialog<br />

appears.<br />

3 Under Enable pre-configured performance monitors for this device, select the<br />

global monitor you would like to enable.<br />
