3 After selecting the appropriate update, enter a brief Update comment that explains<br />

what was done to take care of the problem.<br />

Note: It is not required that you enter an explanatory comment, though we suggest that you<br />

do so for record keeping purposes.<br />

4 Click OK to save changes.<br />

Note: Items that have been acknowledged display a green check mark next to their name<br />

on Alert Center Home threshold dashboard reports.<br />

Netflow database record types<br />

This graph displays the Netflow database tables by number of records, gathered over the<br />

sample time period.<br />

The top database tables are displayed, along with the number of records existing for each.<br />

Tip: Mouse over a table bar to view the number of records for that table.<br />

Click Return to go back to the <strong>WhatsUp</strong> Health Threshold dialog.<br />

Reducing the <strong>WhatsUp</strong> database size<br />

The first step to troubleshooting a large <strong>WhatsUp</strong> database is to identify which table or tables<br />

are consuming the bulk of the used database step. To do this, open the <strong>WhatsUp</strong> Database<br />

tables by size home dashboard report (accessible from the <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> Home tab, click<br />

Add Content > General > Database Table Usage) and note the tables that are consuming<br />

the most space. A list of common large database tables is listed below. Click on a table name<br />

for more information on how to reduce that table.<br />

Tip: You can use the Alert Center to set database threshold alerts for <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> and Flow<br />
