Select computer<br />

Use this dialog to connect to another computer on which you have administrator rights in<br />

order to browse that computer's WMI or SNMP Performance counters.<br />

Select counters from computer. Enter the computer name or IP address of the<br />

computer to which you want to connect.<br />

For WMI (The following options are not available when selecting an WMI counter.)<br />

Computer name. Enter the computer name or IP address for which you want to set<br />

up a performance counter. Click browse (...) to select another device.<br />

Windows credential. Select a credential from a list of Windows credentials (pulled<br />

from the Credentials Library). Click browse (...) to select, add, or edit credentials in the<br />

Credential Library dialog.<br />

For SNMP (The following options are not available when selecting a SNMP counter.)<br />

SNMP v1/v2/v3 credentials. Select valid SNMP credentials for this computer. Click<br />

browse (...) to select other credentials.<br />

Timeout. The amount of time (in seconds) you want the system to wait before failing<br />

the connection to the computer.<br />

Retries. The number of times you want the computer to attempt to make the<br />

connection to the selected computer.<br />

Click OK to save changes.<br />

FTP server user permissions<br />

In order for the FTP Monitor to work properly, you must specify a user account that has been<br />

granted the appropriate permissions.<br />

Performing file actions<br />

To upload files to the server, the account must have write permissions.<br />

To download files from the server, the account must have read permissions.<br />

To delete files from the server, the account must have delete permissions.<br />

Important: If you configure an FTP Monitor to perform all three tasks, the account must have<br />

been granted the write, read, and delete permissions.<br />
