Remote site. Select a Remote Site for the report from the list.<br />

Note: The Remote Sites in this list are populated on the <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> console at Configure<br />

> Program Options > Central Site Configuration.<br />

Local device. Allows users, with rights, the ability to select a local device to<br />

associate the Remote Site with. Click the browse (...) button to select a device. This<br />

device is often the computer that is running the <strong>WhatsUp</strong> software on a Remote<br />

Site. Associating a local device allows you to view the device status from the<br />

Remote Site, keeping you informed about the connection status with the Remote<br />

Site. It also provides easy access to the Network Tools for the local device you<br />

selected.<br />

Click OK to save changes.<br />

Remote Reports: Tail of Remote Site Log dashboard report<br />

This home-level Remote Reports dashboard report displays the tail (last 10 records) of the<br />

Remote Site Log. The report displays information for both a <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> Client and a<br />

<strong>Server</strong>, depending on which version of <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> you are running. For more information,<br />

see Using the Remote/Central dashboard reports.<br />

Each entry in the report contains the following information:<br />

Date. The date the error took place.<br />

Type. The type of the error message received.<br />

Message. The error message received.<br />

Remote Site. The Remote Site on which the failed connection took place.<br />

Note: The Remote site column is only displayed when you are running the <strong>Server</strong> Distributed<br />

version of <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong>.<br />

To configure this dashboard report in <strong>WhatsUp</strong> <strong>Gold</strong>:<br />

1 In the title bar of the dashboard report pane, select Menu > Configure. The Configure<br />

Report dialog appears.<br />

2 Enter or select the appropriate information for the following fields.<br />

Report name. Enter a title for the dashboard report. This name appears in the title bar<br />

of the dashboard report pane.<br />

Maximum number of Items to display. Enter the number of individual items within<br />

the category you want to display in the dashboard report. The report will display the<br />

top values based on the sort option selected in Display and Sort by. All other items in<br />

the category are included in the 'Others' category, and will be displayed when Include<br />

'Others' is selected.<br />
