The Blandas also occasionally keep wild animals<br />

for future consumption, though <strong>the</strong>y cannot exactly be<br />

said to fatten <strong>the</strong>m. I have seen a young wild pig<br />

kept in this way, a strong cage being built for it<br />

underneath <strong>the</strong> raised hut -floor <strong>of</strong> a Blandas man<br />

who lived on <strong>the</strong> river Langat.<br />

Besisi.—The Besisi <strong>of</strong> K. Langat, in hunting, still<br />

as a rule use <strong>the</strong> blowpipe, though in many places it<br />

is fast becoming obsolete. Most <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m also are<br />

well provided with spears and jungle-knives, but in a<br />
