Catoptrus, g. n. Cephalothorax arcuate as <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Cyclometopa, its edges<br />

endostome canaliculated; third article of <strong>the</strong> outer maxillipeds truncated at<br />

Gelasimus. 21 American species are described, and 12 figured, divided<br />

<strong>in</strong>to three groups (probably of generic value). None are common to <strong>the</strong><br />

Atlantic and Pacific coasts (except G. stenodactylus, M.-Edw., Brazil and<br />

Glyptograpsus, gen. nov. The form of <strong>the</strong> carapace and number of lateral<br />

Heterograpsus. The form of <strong>the</strong> epistome and <strong>the</strong> peculiar deep efferent<br />
