Dimalus, p. 55. Evidently carnivorous, though subcortical by its build;<br />

mandibles very robust, po<strong>in</strong>ted, each armed <strong>in</strong>ternally with a bifid tooth,<br />

which fits <strong>in</strong>to that of <strong>the</strong> opposite side. Allied to Phylloma (Er.), but with<br />

<strong>the</strong> maxillae <strong>in</strong>serted at <strong>the</strong> back of <strong>the</strong> mentum. Sp. D. platamodes, p. 57,<br />

Operclipygus, pp. 75 & 76. This bastard name is <strong>in</strong>directly proposed by<br />

<strong>the</strong> author as that of a genus, <strong>the</strong> characters of which are ma<strong>in</strong>ly deduced<br />

from <strong>the</strong> description of <strong>the</strong> species on which it is meant to be founded.<br />

Comes between Platysoma and Cylistix, hav<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> facies of <strong>the</strong> former, but<br />

with <strong>the</strong> pygidium elevated and surrounded by a deep circular furrow. Sp.<br />
