Nicagus (Ochodceus) obscurus (Lee), hav<strong>in</strong>g slightly movable leaflets to<br />

its clava, is considered to agree with certa<strong>in</strong> Australian spp. of Ceratognathus.<br />

It has hi<strong>the</strong>rto been placed <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Scardbceidce, near Trox: Parry, Proc. E.<br />

Soc. 1870, p. iii. Westwood, ibid. p. ix, considers Leconte's species not<br />

referable to any of <strong>the</strong> Lucanoid families.<br />
