Pavonia eurylochus, Cram. Boisduval [Le"p. Guat. p. 57] alludes to an<br />

op<strong>in</strong>ion that <strong>the</strong> specimens usually referred to this species from Brazil and<br />

Guatemala form two species dist<strong>in</strong>ct from <strong>the</strong> type from Guiana.<br />

Eryphanis. Boisduval (I. c. p. 58) states that reevesii, Doubl. & Hew.,=<br />

automedon §, and describes <strong>in</strong> full E. asaeus, Herr.-Schaff<br />

Caligo, Hiibn. Contrary to his usual practice, Boisduval (I. c. p. 54)<br />

adopts this name because several authors have used it, but he applies it to<br />

Opsiphanes (!). He proposes <strong>the</strong> name of Caligo fabricii for Cramer's figure<br />

106 A, which all authors consider to represent cassia, L<strong>in</strong>n., and makes no<br />

mention of Ops. crameri, Feld. (=cassia, Cram. 105 A, B). He also redescribes<br />

as new [Ops.] tamav<strong>in</strong>di, Feld.<br />
