RADOSZKOVSKY (l> c. vii. Bull. pp. xix-xxi) supplements <strong>the</strong> above-mentioned<br />

monograph by <strong>the</strong> observations that M. austriaca (maura cf ) has been<br />

bred by Giraud from nests of Ammophila heydeni, and M. coronata by Sichel<br />

from a colony of Larra ana<strong>the</strong>ma; that M. parvicollis, Costa, is <strong>the</strong> J of eapitata,<br />

Luc, and is parasitic upon a Chrysis; and M. tabida, Luc, is certa<strong>in</strong>ly<br />

<strong>the</strong> $ of hottentota (F.), and is parasitic upon Leptochilus mauritanieus,<br />

—<strong>the</strong>se two Mutillce, with nilotica, Kl, hav<strong>in</strong>g been bred from Algerian<br />

Helix maritima. The author notes that <strong>the</strong> form of <strong>the</strong> first abdom<strong>in</strong>al segment<br />

<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> different species co<strong>in</strong>cides with that of <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r Hymenoptera<br />

upon which <strong>the</strong>y are parasitic.<br />

Smicromyrme, g. n. Thorns, Opusc. Ent. p. 208. Basal nerve of ant. w<strong>in</strong>gs<br />

reach<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> postcostal considerably before <strong>the</strong> stigma; dorsal l<strong>in</strong>es of<br />
