SCHAUFUSS (Nunq. Otios. p. 48) redescribes his Thylacites pretiosm and<br />

Strophosomus bceticus.<br />

Thylacites n<strong>in</strong>gnidus, Germ.,=rubi (Gyll.), and is not a Polydrosus, but a<br />

Sciaphilus: Thomson, Sk. Col, x. p. 176.<br />

Damage to peas by Sitones l<strong>in</strong>eatus and S.fiavescens is noticed <strong>in</strong> Ent. 79,<br />

p. 117. °<br />

PASCOE (Tr. Ent. Soc. 1870, pp. 13-40) tabulates and describes 39 spp. of<br />

<strong>the</strong> Australian genus Catasarcus, of which all but 5 are treated as new. He<br />

refers to an exudation, <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> form of small gra<strong>in</strong>s, as if spr<strong>in</strong>kled with sand,<br />

and to a waxy varnish, apparently part of <strong>the</strong> true <strong>in</strong>tegument, occurr<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>in</strong> certa<strong>in</strong> of <strong>the</strong>se species.<br />
