H. W. BATES (Tr. E. Soc. 1870, pp. 442-444), who has concluded<br />

his work on <strong>the</strong> Longicornia of <strong>the</strong> Amazons (of which<br />

<strong>the</strong> Lamiides were published <strong>in</strong> Ann. N. H. 1861-66, <strong>the</strong> Prionides<br />

<strong>in</strong> Tr. E. Soc. 1869, p. 37 et seq., and <strong>the</strong> Cerambycides<br />

as above, pp. 243-325, and pp. 391-444), gives tables of <strong>the</strong><br />

genera and. species referred to by him from that district,<br />

result<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g numbers :—Prionides, 16 genera,<br />

26 spp.; Cerambycides, 104 genera, 288 spp.; Lamiides, 101<br />

genera, 365 spp.; giv<strong>in</strong>g a total of 221 genera and 679 spp.<br />

MURRAY (Ann. N. H. ser 4, v. pp. 430-438, vi. pp. 44-56, 161-176,<br />
