GEMMINGER (C. H. vi. p. Ill) withdraws his alteration of Platydemapicipes
(Cast, et BrulhS) into vicinum, as Say's picipes is a Phaleria.. He makes the
following further changes:—Encephalus (Breme nee Westw.) to Eneara,
p. 124; Platydema histrio (Er. nee Cast. & Br.) to histrionicum; P. maculosum
(Thorns, nee Cast. & Br.) to maeularium; P, variegatum (Klug nee
Cast. & Br.) to variipenne (p. 122).
Platydema paUens, Lap., is certainly, and P. 4-maculata, P. cyanea, Hoplocephala
chalybea and H. collaris, Lap, are most probably to be withdrawn
from the list of N. American spp.; the first of them is S. American: Leconte?
