M'LACHLAN (Tr. E. S. 1870, p. 531) notices a few <strong>in</strong>sects of this order<br />

collected at K<strong>in</strong>sembo (Congo) by Ansell.<br />

WALLENGREN (CEfv. Sv. Ak. 1870, pp. 145-182) enumerates and describes<br />

species new to <strong>the</strong> Swedish fauna.<br />

TRICHOPTERA.<br />

WALLENGREN (CEfv. Sv. Ak. 1870, pp. 157-171) describes 32 known<br />

species as new to <strong>the</strong> Swedish fauna. He has also (I. c. pp. 146-151) given<br />

a revision of Zetterstedt's species of <strong>the</strong> ASquipalpia, after an exam<strong>in</strong>ation of<br />

<strong>the</strong> types. Phryganea nubila= Rhyacophila vulgaris, Pict.; P. charpentieri<br />

= Philopotamus montanus, Don.; P. umbrosa = Polycentropus fiavomaculatus,<br />

M'LACHLAN (Ann. E. Belg. xiii. pp. 1-12) revises many of Rambur's<br />

species, after an exam<strong>in</strong>ation of <strong>the</strong> types. The Inaquipalpia had already<br />

been revised by Hagen; and M'Lachlan mostly agrees with his views, except<strong>in</strong>g<br />

that he states Limnephila scabripennis to be a Stenophylax, and not an<br />

Halesus. In <strong>the</strong> AEquipalpia he gives <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g determ<strong>in</strong>ations :—Mystacida<br />

venosa = Leptocerus nervosus, F.; M. albimacula = Leptocerus bimaculatus,<br />

St.; M. obsoleta = Setodes oehracea, O.; M. ruf<strong>in</strong>a = Leptocerus c<strong>in</strong>ereus, C;<br />

M. leucophaa and subtrifasciata=Setodes leucophaa, R.; M. vetula=Leptocerus<br />

dissimilis, St.<br />

WHITE (Ent. M. M. vii. p. 53) records Limnophilus pavidus, Hag., and<br />

Phryganea obsoleta, Hag., from Inverness-shire, Scotland.<br />

Brachycentrus subnubilus. M'Lachlan (Ent. M. M. vii. p. 19) records a<br />

partially gynandromorphous <strong>in</strong>dividual of this species; <strong>the</strong> palpi and left<br />

anterior w<strong>in</strong>g are female, but all <strong>the</strong> rest of <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>sect has male characters.<br />

Enoicyla pusilla. Ritsema (Tijdschr. Ent. 1870, pp. 111-120) gives a history<br />

of <strong>the</strong> metamorphoses of this terrestrial species, accompanied by a plate<br />

of figures of <strong>the</strong> different stages.<br />

Sialidee.<br />

Sialis fulg<strong>in</strong>osa. Wallengren (CEfv. Sv. Ac. 1870, p. 152) records <strong>the</strong> occurrence<br />

of this species <strong>in</strong> Sweden.<br />

A species of Sialis is noticed by M'Lachlan (Ent. M. M. vii. p. 146) as<br />

occurr<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Japan.<br />
