<strong>the</strong> species of Chavaxcs described by Felder:— C. mandar<strong>in</strong>us probably =C.<br />

narcceus; C. attalus probably = C. athamas; C. bharata, of which C. arja is a<br />

var,, is perhaps dist<strong>in</strong>ct; C. brennus is not C. latona, but perhaps C. aff<strong>in</strong>is,%;<br />

C. pavmenion, demonax, and amycus are probably vars. of C. aff<strong>in</strong>is; C. scylax<br />

= C. baja; C. hierax and C. hipponax= C. bernardus; C.pleistoanax is a whitebanded<br />

race of <strong>the</strong> same.<br />
