Thirty-eight species are enumerated, belong<strong>in</strong>g to two subfamilies and to<br />

seven genera. Atticora obscura, Temm., is identified with Psalidoprocne holomelcena,<br />

juv., and Hirundo alfredi (Zool. Rec. v. p. 81) with Petrochelidon spilodera<br />

(Sund. G3f. Sv. Ak. 1850, p. 108). A table of <strong>the</strong> geographical distribution<br />

is added, <strong>in</strong> which an attempt is made to divide <strong>the</strong> region naturally<br />

<strong>in</strong>to five subregions—<strong>the</strong> Abyss<strong>in</strong>ian, Mozambican, Cape, Gu<strong>in</strong>ean, and Madagascarian.<br />

Hirundo rufula does not differ from H. daurica, E. de Selys-Longchamps,<br />
