v. FRAUENPELD (Verh. zool-bot. Ges. Wien, xx. p. 60) communicates a<br />

letter of A. Stentz, who describes <strong>the</strong> occurrence of Bledius tricornis (Grav.)<br />

on <strong>the</strong> w<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> vast multitudes.<br />

Bledius fuscipes, Rye. Taylor notes <strong>the</strong> habits of this species near Liverpool<br />

(Ent. M. M. vii. p. 10).<br />

Platystethuspilosellus, Wank., =nodifrons (Sahib.), ex typ.: Fauvel, L'Ab.<br />

vii. p. 136.<br />

CZWALLNA (B. E. Z. xiv. p. 422) tabulates eight species of Oxytelus allied<br />

to depressus, of which he describes three as new. Scriba (ibid. p. 423)<br />

briefly refers to <strong>the</strong> characters of two of <strong>the</strong> former and of ano<strong>the</strong>r allied species<br />

; and Kraatz (ibid. p. 424) repeats Pandell^'s description of two more<br />

closely allied species,—<strong>the</strong> latter author's 9 species (<strong>in</strong> Gren. Cat. &c.)<br />

be<strong>in</strong>g thus <strong>in</strong>creased to 12.<br />

Oxytelus parvulus, Muls., is a Troyophlceus : Czwal<strong>in</strong>a, I. c. p. 422.<br />

p. 221; all from Kbnigsberg, taken <strong>in</strong> company with O. depressus, <strong>the</strong>ir <strong>in</strong>timate<br />

rrom H. gracilicorne, Fairm., and H. vile (ibid. p. 153).<br />
