M'LACHLAN, Ent. M. M. vi. p. 195, tabulates <strong>the</strong> genera allied to Osmylusi<br />

and enumerates <strong>the</strong> species belong<strong>in</strong>g to each genus; he remarks that <strong>in</strong><br />

many species <strong>the</strong> tarsal claws are bifid or serrate. He places Chrysopa pubicosta,<br />

Walker, provisionally <strong>in</strong> Osmylus, and redescribes it, I. c. p. 198.<br />

Hyposmylus, n. g., M'Lachlan, Ent. M. M. vi. p. 200. Allied to Osmylus,<br />

but <strong>the</strong> costal ve<strong>in</strong>lets transversely united, so as to form many rows of costal<br />

cellules. Type H punctipennis, Walker (described).<br />

Hemerobiidce.<br />

WALLENGREN (CEfv. Sv. Ac. 1870, pp. 154-157) records <strong>the</strong> addition of<br />

six species to <strong>the</strong> Swedish fauna, one of which, Hemerobius orotypus (I. c.<br />

p. 155), is new.<br />

Psectra diptera. Packard (Proc. Bost. Soc. xiii. p. 407) states that a specimen<br />

of this rare <strong>in</strong>sect had occurred <strong>in</strong> Ma<strong>in</strong>e, and does not differ, accord<strong>in</strong>g<br />

to Hagen, from European <strong>in</strong>dividuals.<br />

Chrysopidce.<br />

WALLENGREN (CEfv. Sv. Ak. 1870, p. 153) records <strong>the</strong> addition of 3 known<br />

species to <strong>the</strong> Swedish fauna.<br />

Coniopterygidce.<br />

M'LACHLAN (Ent. M. M. vi. p. 238) remarks on <strong>the</strong> sexes of Coniopteryx,<br />

and is opposed to <strong>the</strong> supposition that psociformis and aleyrodiformis may he<br />

only sexes of one species.<br />

Panorpides.<br />

Merope tube?: Selys-Longchamps (Ann. E. Belg. xiii. Comp. rend.<br />

p. xxx) states that he has received a pair of this extremely rare species, and<br />

remarks on <strong>the</strong> structure of <strong>the</strong> anal appendices of <strong>the</strong> male.<br />

Panorpa cognata. Wallengren (CEfv. Sv. Ak. 1870, p. 152) records <strong>the</strong><br />

occurrence of this species <strong>in</strong> Sweden.<br />

Boreus califamicus, sp. n., Packard, Proc. Bost. Soc. xiii. p. 408, California,<br />
