to Bellevoye's list; and A. DE PERRLN (ibid.) gives directions for <strong>the</strong><br />

detection of £ Drilus, received by him from Lespes.<br />

LUCAS (Ann. Soc. Ent. Fr. 4 e ser. x. Bull. p. lvii) briefly describes <strong>the</strong> ?<br />

of a Malaeogaster from Algiers, <strong>the</strong> larva of which attacks Helix dupoteti and<br />

H. lucasi, and which (hav<strong>in</strong>g tf and $ ) he provisionally names M. bassii.<br />

ABEILLE DE PERRIN (Ann. Soc. Ent. Fr. 4 e ser. x. p. 81) describes at<br />

full length his Telephorus comix, of which <strong>the</strong> diagnosis was published <strong>in</strong><br />

Pet. Nouv, 1 Dec. 1869.<br />

PETTITT (Canad. Ent. ii. p. 117) records an example, from Ontario, of<br />

Podabrus punctatus (Kirby) with three antennae; <strong>the</strong> additional member<br />

be<strong>in</strong>g placed directly <strong>in</strong> front of <strong>the</strong> right antenna, and consist<strong>in</strong>g of 10 jo<strong>in</strong>ts,<br />

with a three-jo<strong>in</strong>ted branch from <strong>the</strong> base of <strong>the</strong> n<strong>in</strong>th jo<strong>in</strong>t.<br />

A larva, supposed to be that of a Telephorus, and proved to feed upon <strong>the</strong><br />

grubs of <strong>the</strong> "Plum Curculio" (Conotrachelus nenuphar), is described and<br />

figured, with detail, <strong>in</strong> Amer. Ent. i. p. 35, f. 29. This is subsequently (p. 51)<br />

discovered to be <strong>the</strong> larva of Chaulioynathus pennsylvanicus (DeG.), f. 51.<br />
