(1793-1858), was Curate <strong>of</strong> Hale, Farnham, 1889-90.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Gules a lion rampant Argent ducally crowned Or between three crescents <strong>of</strong> the last a canton Ermine.<br />

Crest: A demi lion rampant couped Argent collared Gules ducally crowned [Or] holding in the dexter paw a crescent also Gules.<br />

SALVIN Francis Henry Salvin <strong>of</strong> Sutton Place, {Woking}, Captain, 3 rd Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment, (b.1817, d. unmarried<br />

1904), 5 th son <strong>of</strong> William Thomas Salvin <strong>of</strong> Croxdale, Co. Durham, (1768-1842), inherited Sutton Place from his uncle Thomas Mornington<br />

SAMUEL Isaac Bunford Samuel <strong>of</strong> Marlow House, Kingston-upon-Thames, had a daughter and heir Emily Grace who married, 1920,<br />

as his 2 nd wife, Dr. William Evelyn St. Lawrence Finny <strong>of</strong> Westcr<strong>of</strong>t, Kingston Hill, qv.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: (as borne on an escutcheon <strong>of</strong> pretence by Finny). Gules on a cross between in the first and fourth quarters a lion rampant<br />

and in the second and third an eagle displayed Argent a rose <strong>of</strong> the field. (FD7)<br />

SAMUEL Sir John Michael Glen Samuel, 5 th Bart., <strong>of</strong> Birchwood, Beech Close, Cobham, (b.1944), succeeded his father Sir John<br />

Oliver Cecil Samuel, 4 th Bart., <strong>of</strong> Nevern Square, who was <strong>of</strong> Greywood, Burwood Park, Walton-on-Thames, on the latter's death, 1962.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Per chevron Argent and Gules two wolves' heads erased in chief Sable and in base as many squirrels sejant addorsed each<br />

cracking a nut <strong>of</strong> the first.<br />

George Russell Sandars, MA (Cantab), <strong>of</strong> Chalfont Grove, Buckinghamshire, (1865-1950), Rector <strong>of</strong> Davenham, Cheshire, 1904-39, and<br />

descended from Thomas Sanders <strong>of</strong> Lullington, Derbyshire, (d.1558). Of the same family, John Francis Sandars <strong>of</strong> Manor Cottage, Smithwood<br />

Common, Cranleigh, (b.1903), son <strong>of</strong> Francis Hervey Sandars, BA, LL.B (Cantab), solicitor, (1867-1911), brother <strong>of</strong> the above Canon G R<br />

Sandars.<br />
