PLANTAGENET Duke <strong>of</strong> Clarence. Lionel "<strong>of</strong> Antwerp", Duke <strong>of</strong> Clarence, (1338-69), 3 rd son <strong>of</strong> Edward III, acquired a moiety <strong>of</strong><br />
Shere by marriage, 1342, when aged 4, to Elizabeth, (1332-63), daughter <strong>of</strong> William de Burgh, Earl <strong>of</strong> Ulster, qv. (VCHS iii 114)<br />
<strong>Arms</strong>: Quarterly, 1 and 4, Azure semé-de-lys Or (France, ancient); 2 and 3, Gules three lions passant guardant In pale Or (England);<br />
a label <strong>of</strong> three points Argent each charged with a canton Gules. (FFC)<br />
PLANTAGENET Duke <strong>of</strong> Gloucester. Thomas " <strong>of</strong> Woodstock", Duke <strong>of</strong> Gloucester, (1355-97), 6 th and youngest son <strong>of</strong> Edward III,<br />
acquired the manor <strong>of</strong> Clapham by marriage to Eleanor, (d.1399), daughter and coheir <strong>of</strong> Humphrey de Bohun, Earl <strong>of</strong> Hereford and Essex, qv.<br />

Lieutenant-Colonel the Hon. Stuart Pleydell-Bouverie, DSO, OBE, TD, <strong>of</strong> High Barn, Godalming, (1877-1947), was 2 nd son <strong>of</strong> the 5 th Earl <strong>of</strong><br />
Radnor, (1841-1900).<br />

charged with a bend Vair (ancient arms <strong>of</strong> Bouverie); 2 and 3, Argent a bend Gules gutté d'eau between two ravens Sable a chief chequy Or and<br />
Sable (Pleydell).<br />

PLUNKET David Darley Plunket <strong>of</strong> Kilmore, Chobham, (1869-1956), was son <strong>of</strong> the Hon. Charles Bushe Plunket, JP, <strong>of</strong> Penang and<br />
Hong Kong, (1830-80), who was 2 nd son <strong>of</strong> the 3 rd Baron Plunket, (1793-1871).<br />
<strong>Arms</strong>: Sable a bend between a tower in sinister chief and a portcullis in dexter base all Or.<br />
Crest: A horse passant Argent charged on the side with a portcullis Sable.<br />
