MEGGES <strong>of</strong> Whitechapel, Middlesex, <strong>of</strong> Newington, <strong>Surrey</strong>, and <strong>of</strong> Theydon Gernon, Essex.<br />
<strong>Arms</strong>: Or a chevron engrailed Azure between three mascles Gules, on a chief Sable a greyhound courant Argent.<br />
Crest: A griffin sejant per pale Gules and Or, beaked, legged and ducally gorged <strong>of</strong> the last, with wings endorsed.<br />
As borne by William Megges <strong>of</strong> Whitechapel and the Rev. James Megges, DD, (d.1672), Rector <strong>of</strong> Newington and Theydon Gernon, sons <strong>of</strong><br />
William Megges, (d.1621), <strong>of</strong> Whitechapel, citizen and draper <strong>of</strong> London, son <strong>of</strong> William Megges, (d.1597), <strong>of</strong> Whitechapel, citizen and draper<br />

descended also Frank Leopold Merriman <strong>of</strong> the Firs, West Byfleet, (b.1899), son <strong>of</strong> John Henry Merriman, (1847-1922),<br />
