Lieutenant-Colonel Stephen Ayshford Sanford, 3 rd Kings Own Hussars, <strong>of</strong> Ridge House, Sandgate, Kent, (b.1891), and descended from Henry<br />

Sandford <strong>of</strong> Nynehead, Somerset, (1612-44), and his wife Mary, (d.1662 aged 55), daughter <strong>of</strong> Hugh Ayshford <strong>of</strong> Ayshford, Devon.<br />

SASSOON Sassoon David Sassoon <strong>of</strong> Ashley Park, Walton-on-Thames, (1832-67), was father <strong>of</strong> Joseph Sassoon, JP, MA (Oxon), <strong>of</strong><br />

Ashley Park, (1855-1918), whose eldest son Captain Sassoon Joseph Sassoon, BA (Oxon), 6 th Inniskilling Dragoons, <strong>of</strong> Ashley Park, was<br />

succeeded in the representation <strong>of</strong> the family by his brother David Sassoon, (b.1888).<br />

The family formerly bore:<br />
