Lindsay Palmes, JP, MA, <strong>of</strong> Naburn Hall, Yorkshire, (1813-88), and descended from William Palmes <strong>of</strong> Taunton, Somerset, living 1216, who<br />

acquired Naburn by marriage and who was ancestor also <strong>of</strong> Major Gerald Lindsay Palmes, DSO, Royal Lancaster Regiment <strong>of</strong> Woodedge,<br />

Teckels Avenue, Camberley, (b.1864), 6 th son <strong>of</strong> the Ven. James Palmes, DD, MA, Rector <strong>of</strong> Burton Agnes, Yorkshire, and Archdeacon <strong>of</strong> the<br />

East Riding, (1825-98), a younger brother <strong>of</strong> the Rev. W L Palmes, above.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Gules three fleurs-de-lys Argent a chief Vair.<br />

Crest: A dexter cubit arm Proper vested Azure holding a palm branch erect Proper.<br />
