JEKYLL Colonel Sir Herbert Jekyll, KCMG, RE, <strong>of</strong> Munstead House, Godalming, (1846-1932), 4 th son <strong>of</strong> Edward Joseph Hill Jekyll,<br />

<strong>of</strong> Wargrave Hill, Berkshire, (1804-76), married, 1881, Agnes Lowndes, DBE, JP, 6 th daughter and co-heir <strong>of</strong> William Graham <strong>of</strong> 35 Grosvenor<br />

Place, London.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Quarterly, 1, Or a fess between three hinds trippant Sable (Jekyll); 2, Lozengy Argent and Sable a chief per fess dancetté Or<br />

and Azure (Stocker); 3, Gules two wings inverted and conjoined in lure Argent and in chief a crescent for difference (Barnhouse); 4, Argent<br />

crusilly fitché Sable three boars' heads erased Gules (Brittixton); and upon an escutcheon <strong>of</strong> pretence, Or on a chief invected Ermine three<br />

escallops <strong>of</strong> the field.<br />

Colonel Richard Henry Jelf, CMG, DL, RE, <strong>of</strong> Ashbourne, Derbyshire, (1844-1913). Of the same family, Sir Arthur Richard Jelf, High Court<br />

Judge, (1837-1917), was <strong>of</strong> Oak House, Carlton Road, Putney Hill.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Per chevron engrailed Azure and Ermine in chief two doves Argent beaked and legged Gules and in base three cinquefoils<br />

two and one <strong>of</strong> the last.<br />

Robert Jenkinson, 2 nd Bart., <strong>of</strong> Hawkesbury, Gloucestershire. The Earl <strong>of</strong> Liverpool succeeded as 7 th Bart., to the Hawkesbury estate, but both<br />

baronetcy and estate passed to a still younger line on the death, without issue, <strong>of</strong> the 3 rd Earl in 1851.<br />

JENKINSON Sir Anthony Banks Jenkinson, 13 th Bart., <strong>of</strong> Bear's House, Wentworth, Virginia Water, (b.1912), succeeded his grandfather<br />

Sir George Banks Jenkinson, 12 th Bart., DL, JP, on the latter's death, 1915. Of the same family, Captain Robert Charles Horace Jenkinson, 1 st<br />

Life Guards, <strong>of</strong> Knap Hill Manor, (b.1900), was descended from Sir Robert Jenkinson, 2 nd Bart., (d.1710).<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Azure a fess wavy Argent charged with a cross pattée Gules in chief two estoiles Or.<br />

Crest: A sea horse assurgent Or maned Azure supporting a cross pattée Gules.<br />

at law. Recorder <strong>of</strong> London, and Justice <strong>of</strong> the Common Pleas, son <strong>of</strong> Thomas Jenner <strong>of</strong> Mayfield, Sussex.<br />

JENNER Gilbert Jenner, MA (Oxon), <strong>of</strong> Snatts Barn, Limpsfield, (1872-1949), Headmaster <strong>of</strong> Hazelwood Preparatory School,<br />

Limpsfield, 1906-17, was 3 rd son <strong>of</strong> the Rev. Edmund Jenner, BA (Cantab), Rector <strong>of</strong> Catton, Yorkshire, (1833-78), and grandson <strong>of</strong> Robert<br />

Francis Jenner, DL, JP, <strong>of</strong> Wenvoe Castle, Glamorganshire, (1802-60).<br />

Gennyn, grandson <strong>of</strong> Thomas Gennyn <strong>of</strong> Hampshire. Of this family were the sisters Frances Jennings, (<strong>of</strong> the Grammont memoirs), Duchess <strong>of</strong><br />

Tyrconnel, and the famous Sarah Jennings, Duchess <strong>of</strong> Marlborough.<br />
