SULLIVANT <strong>of</strong> Thames Ditton. After 1823 <strong>of</strong> Ember Court in Thames Ditton. Baronet, May 22, 1804. *<br />
<strong>Arms</strong>: Per fess, the base per pale; in chief Or a dexter hand couped at the wrist grasping a sword erect, pomel and hilt Gules, the<br />
blade entwined with a serpent Proper between two lions rampant respecting each other <strong>of</strong> the second; the dexter base Vert charged with a buck<br />
trippant Or; on the sinister base per pale Argent and Sable a boar passant counterchanged.<br />
Crest: On a ducal coronet Or a robin, in his beak a sprig <strong>of</strong> laurel Proper.<br />

Descended from Sir Richard Joseph Sullivan, (d.1806), <strong>of</strong> Thames Ditton, 3 rd son <strong>of</strong> Benjamin Sullivan, son <strong>of</strong> Philip Sullivan, both <strong>of</strong><br />

SURTEES Henry Patrick Surtees <strong>of</strong> Dinsdale, Co. Durham, (1868-1939), descended from the Surtees family <strong>of</strong> Broadoak,<br />
Northumberland, had issue, amongst others, an eldest son, Montagu Jocelyn Surtees <strong>of</strong> Kingsmead, Hurtmore, Godalming, (b.1898), and a 4 th<br />
son Conyers Alfred Surtees, also <strong>of</strong> Kingsmead, (b.1907). Of the same family, John Ralph Surtees <strong>of</strong> Dinsdale, (d. unmarried 1914), was also <strong>of</strong><br />
The Green, Richmond.<br />

Crest: Out <strong>of</strong> an orle Or a plume <strong>of</strong> three feathers interlaced Proper.<br />
