MOON The Rev. Sir Edward Graham Moon, 2 nd Bart., MA (Oxon), (1825-1904), Rector <strong>of</strong> Fetcham, Leatherhead, had issue,<br />

amongst others, a 5 th son the Rev. Cecil Graham Moon, MA (Oxon), (1867-1948), father <strong>of</strong> Flight-Officer Arthur Graham Moon, RAF, <strong>of</strong><br />

Hillside, Tandridge, Oxted, (b.1901), a 4 th son Major Wilfred Graham Moon, Seaforth Highlanders, (1864-1909), father <strong>of</strong> Sir Arthur Wilfred<br />

Graham Moon, 4 th Bart., <strong>of</strong> Little Brook Farm, Newchapel, Lingfield, (1905-54), who succeeded his uncle Sir Francis Sidney Graham Moon, 3 rd<br />

Bart., on the latter's death, unmarried, 1911.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Argent an eagle displayed Gules charged on the breast with two swords in saltire Proper on a chief nebuly Azure a fasces<br />

erect Or between two crescents Argent.<br />

Crest: A crescent Argent in front <strong>of</strong> a fasces in bend Or surmounting a sword in bend sinister Proper.<br />

(d.1694), all <strong>of</strong> Sayes House, which David, with his brothers Thomas Moore <strong>of</strong> Hartswood in Buckland, and Edmund Moore <strong>of</strong> Reigate, were<br />

sons <strong>of</strong> Edmund Moore, grandson <strong>of</strong> Robert More <strong>of</strong> Lincoln, Secretary to Anne Boleyn.<br />

MOORE Edward Moore <strong>of</strong> Stockwell House, Lord <strong>of</strong> the Manor <strong>of</strong> Leigh Priors, Wiltshire, (d.1792 aged 59), whom Burke describes<br />

as "a distinguished actor in the politics <strong>of</strong> his day, and the personal friend <strong>of</strong> Charles James Fox", was eldest son <strong>of</strong> the Rev. Edward Moore,<br />

LL.D, Vicar <strong>of</strong> Over, Cheshire, (1696-1755).<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Argent a chevron between three moorcocks Sable wattles and legs Gules.<br />

Crest: A Moor's head affronté Proper wreathed round the temples a jewel pendent in the ears Argent.<br />

Motto: Resolve well, persevere. (BLG1846).<br />

uncle Ronald George Moore, <strong>of</strong> 1 Parkfield Avenue, East Sheen, (b.1903), 4 th son <strong>of</strong> Sir Edward Moore, 1 st Bart., (1851-1923).<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Or a moorcock between three clusters <strong>of</strong> harebells Proper a bordure Vert.<br />

Crest: On a bush <strong>of</strong> heather a moorcock both Proper.<br />

MOORE Earl <strong>of</strong> Drogheda. Baron Moore <strong>of</strong> Cobham. Sir Henry Charles Ponsonby Moore, 10 th Earl <strong>of</strong> Drogheda, <strong>of</strong><br />

Leigh Hill House, Cobham, (1884-1957), was created Baron Moore <strong>of</strong> Cobham, 1954. He was succeeded in the titles by his son Sir Charles<br />

Garrett Ponsonby Moore, 11 th Earl <strong>of</strong> Drogheda, 2 nd Baron Moore <strong>of</strong> Cobham, KG, KBE, <strong>of</strong> Parkside House, Englefield Green, (b.1910).<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Azure on a chief indented Or three mullets pierced Gules.<br />

Crest: Out <strong>of</strong> a ducal coronet Or a Moor's head proper wreathed about the temples Argent and Azure.<br />
