KNIGHT-BRUCE William Bruce, RN, <strong>of</strong> Llanblethian, Glamorganshire, married, (i), Jane, eldest daughter <strong>of</strong> Gabriel Lewis, <strong>of</strong><br />

Lanishen, and had a daughter and eventual heir Margaret, (d.1809), who married, 1779, John Knight, <strong>of</strong> Fairlinch, Devon. Their 3 rd and youngest<br />

son the Rt. Hon. Sir James Lewis Knight-Bruce, PC, DL, JP, Hon DCL (Oxon), FRS, FSA, <strong>of</strong> Roehampton Priory, (1791-1866), one <strong>of</strong> the Vice-<br />

Chancellors <strong>of</strong> England and a Lord Justice <strong>of</strong> the Court <strong>of</strong> Appeal in Chancery, assumed the additional surname <strong>of</strong> Bruce, 1837. His 2 nd son<br />

Lewis Knight-Bruce, JP, BA (Oxon), <strong>of</strong> Roehampton Priory, (1820-1906), was father <strong>of</strong> Robert Hastings Knight Knight-Bruce, <strong>of</strong> Roehampton<br />
