SHERBROOK William Sherbrook, (formerly Schubach), merchant, Citizen and Gardener <strong>of</strong> London, (b.1874), was <strong>of</strong> The Old Vicarage,<br />

Tadworth.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Purpure a winged wheel Argent and in dexter chief point a lyre Or.<br />

Crest: Upon a mount Vert a well issuant therefrom a dexter female hand holding a mirror all Proper.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Azure [sic] on a chevron Gules between in chief two sheaves <strong>of</strong> six arrows interlaced saltireways <strong>of</strong> the second flighted and<br />

pheoned Argent and in base a bow stringed fessways <strong>of</strong> the last three bezants.<br />

Crest: A demi lion rampant Erminois charged on the shoulder with two arrows saltireways Gules flighted Proper in the paw a slip<br />

<strong>of</strong> oak leaves acorned also Proper. (BGA)<br />

* By Burke, but (VCHS ii 588) records a Mr William Shotter, attorney, as the last remaining member <strong>of</strong> the close corporation <strong>of</strong> Farnham in<br />

1789. He was indicted for neglecting the repairs <strong>of</strong> Tilford bridges in that year, and having to pay the costs out <strong>of</strong> his own pocket, he 'dissolved<br />

himself’ and surrendered the charters and all the documents <strong>of</strong> the corporation into the hands <strong>of</strong> the Rt. Rev. the Hon. Brownlow North, Bishop<br />

<strong>of</strong> Winchester.<br />
