SURREY COATS OF ARMS<br />
PASLEY Sir Thomas Edward Sabine Pasley, 3rd Bart., <strong>of</strong> Craig, Dumfriesshire, BA (Cantab), (1863-1947), was <strong>of</strong> the Commandant's<br />
House, Gordon Boys' Home, West End, Woking. He died spm and was succeeded by his nephew Sir Rodney Marshall Sabine Pasley, 4 th Bart.,<br />
<strong>of</strong> Hazel Cottage, Peaslake, (b.1899).<br />
<strong>Arms</strong>: Azure on a chevron Argent between two roses in chief <strong>of</strong> the last and an anchor in base Or three thistles slipped Proper.<br />
Crest: Out <strong>of</strong> a naval coronet Gold a sinister arm in armour Proper grasping in the hand a staff thereon a flag Argent charged with a<br />
cross wavy Gules and on a canton Azure a human leg erect couped below the knee Or.<br />

PASSMORE Joseph Passmore <strong>of</strong> Norwood, Citizen and Lorimer <strong>of</strong> London, (1823-96), had issue, amongst others, Herbert Passmore <strong>of</strong><br />
Chipstead, (b.1863), and Alfred Ernest Passmore <strong>of</strong> Withyshaw, Merstham, Citizen and Stationer <strong>of</strong> London, (b.1867), who was father <strong>of</strong> Brien<br />
Alfred Passmore <strong>of</strong> Ridlands, Limpsfield Chart, (b.1899).<br />
<strong>Arms</strong>: Or a fess between three escutcheons Gules on each a bend Vair between two cinquefoils <strong>of</strong> the first all within a bordure<br />
Azure bezanté.<br />
Crest: A demi sea wolf Proper. (FD7; BLG15)<br />
PATOUR * <strong>of</strong> Richmond.<br />
<strong>Arms</strong>: (granted 1772). Azure a sword erect Proper hilt and pommel Or between two crescents in chief Argent and a bezant in base.<br />

1923, obtained a grant <strong>of</strong> the following:<br />
<strong>Arms</strong>: Ermine a fess dancetté compony Azure and Gules charged with three and between two cross crosslets in pale Or.<br />
Crest: A leopard's head couped Or pelletté and charged with a fess dancetté Sable holding in the mouth a branch <strong>of</strong> walnut slipped<br />

PAYNTER Francis Paynter <strong>of</strong> Denmark Hill, (d.1835), 2 nd son <strong>of</strong> William Paynter, (1726-1801), <strong>of</strong> a Cornish family, had issue, amongst<br />
others, a 2 nd son the Rev. Samuel Paynter, MA (Cantab), <strong>of</strong> Stoke Hill, Guildford, (b.l800), Rector <strong>of</strong> Stoke, 1831-58, who was father <strong>of</strong> the Rev.<br />
Francis Paynter, MA (Cantab), <strong>of</strong> Stoke Hill, (1836-1908), also Rector <strong>of</strong> Stoke. The above-named William Paynter had a 3 rd and youngest son<br />
Samuel Paynter, JP, <strong>of</strong> Camborne House, Richmond, (1774-1844), High Sheriff <strong>of</strong> <strong>Surrey</strong>, 1838, who was father <strong>of</strong> William Paynter, DL, JP,<br />
MA, <strong>of</strong> Camborne House, barrister-at-law, (1799-1879).<br />
<strong>Arms</strong>: Azure three blocks Argent each charged with an annulet Sable. *<br />
Crest: Three broken arrows Or knit with a lace and mantlet Gules doubled Argent. **<br />
