<strong>Arms</strong>: Sable three combs Argent, a mullet in chief for difference. *<br />

Crest: A cock Argent, beaked Gules, spurred, combed and wattled Or, charged with a mullet for difference, and holding in his beak<br />

a scroll inscribed 'Droit'.<br />

As borne (SV1623) by Sir John Tunstall, Gentleman Usher to Queen Anne, son <strong>of</strong> Robert Tunstall <strong>of</strong> Runcton, Yorkshire, 4 th son <strong>of</strong> Anthony<br />

TUPPER Martin Tupper <strong>of</strong> Albury also <strong>of</strong> Guernsey, (d.1844), son <strong>of</strong> John Tupper <strong>of</strong> the Pollett, Guernsey, was father <strong>of</strong> Martin<br />

Farquhar Tupper, DCL, FRS, <strong>of</strong> Albury also <strong>of</strong> Guernsey, barrister-at-law, (b.1810).<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Azure on a fess engrailed between three wild boars passant Or as many escallops Gules a canton Ermine therefrom pendent<br />

from a chain a medal <strong>of</strong> William and Mary Gold, (given for the victory <strong>of</strong> La Hogue).<br />

Crest: A mount Vert thereon a greyhound passant Ermine charged on the shoulder with a slip <strong>of</strong> oak fructed Proper the dexter<br />

forepaw resting on an escutcheon Azure charged with a medal pendent from a chain as in the arms.<br />

TURNHAM Stephen de Turnham, (d.1220) acquired the manor <strong>of</strong> Artington before 1190 by marriage to the daughter <strong>of</strong> Ralph de Broc.<br />

TURNOUR The Turnour family acquired Down Place, Compton, by the marriage, 1661, <strong>of</strong> Sir Edward Turnour, Speaker <strong>of</strong> the House <strong>of</strong><br />

Commons, to Sarah, daughter <strong>of</strong> Gerard Gore. His grandson Edward, by will proved 1736, left his estates to his cousin Sarah, daughter <strong>of</strong> Sir<br />

Edward Turnour, (d.1721), and wife <strong>of</strong> Francis Gee. Their daughter Sarah married Joseph Garth <strong>of</strong> Shillinglee Park, Sussex, whose son Edward<br />

Turnour Garth-Turnour, 1 st Earl Winterton, (1734-88), inherited Down Place and whose grandson Edward Turnour, 3 rd Earl Winterton, (1784-<br />
