SMITHSON Samuel Smithson, JP, <strong>of</strong> Lentran and Inverernie, Inverness-shire, and Shildon, Co. Durham, (1814-74), had issue, amongst<br />
others, an eldest son Harry Sheldon Cradock Smithson, JP, MA (Cantab), <strong>of</strong> Berry's Cr<strong>of</strong>t, Dorking, (b.1854), and a 2 nd son Samuel Frederick<br />
Smithson, <strong>of</strong> Lauriston, Camberley, and <strong>of</strong> Timaru, New Zealand, barrister-at-law, (b.1857).<br />
<strong>Arms</strong>: Sable a fess embattled counter-embattled in chief two suns in splendour Or.<br />
Crest: A demi lion rampant Sable erased Gules charged on the shoulder with a sun as in the arms.<br />
