WILBERFORCE William Wilberforce <strong>of</strong> Wimbledon, (dsp 1777), was elder son <strong>of</strong> William Wilberforce <strong>of</strong> Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire,<br />

(b.1690), from whom descended also William Wilberforce, JP, <strong>of</strong> South Bank, Surbiton, and <strong>of</strong> Markington, Yorkshire, and the Rt. Rev. Samuel<br />

Wilberforce, MA, DD (Oxon), Bishop <strong>of</strong> Oxford and Winchester, (1805-73), Archdeacon <strong>of</strong> <strong>Surrey</strong>, 1839.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Argent an eagle displayed [wings inverted] Sable beak and legs Gules.<br />

Crest: An eagle as in the arms.<br />

WILDE Baron Penzance. Sir James Plaisted Wilde, PC, KB, QC, MA (Cantab), 1 st and last Baron Penzance <strong>of</strong> Penzance,<br />

Cornwall, (1816-99), 2 nd son <strong>of</strong> Edward Archer Wilde <strong>of</strong> College Hill, London, solicitor, was <strong>of</strong> Eashing Park, Godalming.<br />

Crest: A hart lodged in its mouth a rose all Proper.<br />

Chamberlain <strong>of</strong> London and President <strong>of</strong> the Spanish Company, son <strong>of</strong> Nicholas Wilford <strong>of</strong> London, 5 th son <strong>of</strong> James Wilford, Sheriff <strong>of</strong><br />

Master <strong>of</strong> the Guild <strong>of</strong> Freeman <strong>of</strong> the City <strong>of</strong> London, was son <strong>of</strong> John Wilkinson <strong>of</strong> Nottingham, (1828-74).<br />

leaved and slipped Vert on a chief <strong>of</strong> the second a lion passant between two fleurs-de-lys Azure.<br />

WILKINSON Sir George Henry Wilkinson, 1 st Bart., KCVO, LL.D (London), <strong>of</strong> Brook, Witley, (1885-1967), Lord Mayor <strong>of</strong> London<br />

1940-41, was created Baronet 1941. He was succeeded by his son Sir Leonard David Wilkinson, 2 nd Bart., DSC, <strong>of</strong> Kingwood, Brook, who died<br />

1972 and was succeeded by his son Sir David Graham Brook Wilkinson, 3 rd Bart., (b.1947).<br />
