MORTIMER Charles Mortimer, JP, <strong>of</strong> Wigmore, also <strong>of</strong> Woodfield, Streatham, (1837- 1923), married, 1867, Elizabeth Prentis, (d.1928),<br />

daughter and heir <strong>of</strong> Beriah Drew, JP, Lord <strong>of</strong> the Manor <strong>of</strong> Leigham Court, Streatham, and bore the following:<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Barry <strong>of</strong> six Or and Azure on a chief <strong>of</strong> the first two pallets between two base esquires <strong>of</strong> the second; over all, on an<br />

escutcheon <strong>of</strong> pretence (for Drew), Ermine a lion passant Gules. (FD 1895, which states that the arms were borne without authority)<br />

MORTLAKE <strong>of</strong> <strong>Surrey</strong>.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Gules a lion rampant Or a bordure indented <strong>of</strong> the last<br />

Crest: A lion sejant Or holding in the dexter paw a cross pattée fitché Azure on it a scroll with motto "Hic Labor" and resting the<br />

London, (b.1902), whose son Hugh Richard Moser, solicitor, (b.1931), was <strong>of</strong> Magnolia Cottage, Coombe Hill.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Or in base upon a mount Vert a stork Azure holding in its dexter claw a stone Proper on a chief engrailed <strong>of</strong> the third a<br />

bezant charged with a character <strong>of</strong> Mars Sable between two lions' heads erased <strong>of</strong> the field.<br />

Crest: Between two feathers Or a stork holding in its dexter claw a stone Proper and charged on the breast with three annulets<br />

Shropshire. Their eldest son John Moultrie <strong>of</strong> Aston Hall, (d.1823), was father <strong>of</strong> Major George Austin Moultrie, DL, JP, <strong>of</strong> Aston Hall and <strong>of</strong><br />

Sandwell, 19 th Lancers, (1787-1866), whose son John Austin Moultrie, Lieutenant, 64 th Regiment, (b.1829), was <strong>of</strong> St. Austin's, Sandwell.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Azure on a chevron between three escallops Argent a boar's head couped Sable langued Gules between two spur rowels <strong>of</strong><br />

the last.<br />

MOUNTAIN Sir Edward Mortimer Mountain, 1 st Bart., <strong>of</strong> Oare Manor, Somerset, and Brendon, Devon, (1872-1948), created Baronet,<br />

1922, was at one time <strong>of</strong> Norbury Park, Dorking.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Ermine on a fess Azure between three lions rampant guardant Sable each holding between the forepaws an escallop Gules<br />

three cross crosslets Argent.<br />

Crest: Issuant from the battlements <strong>of</strong> a tower Proper a demi lion guardant Argent holding between the paws an escallop Gules.<br />

Badge: An ivy leaf and a maple leaf slipped in saltire Proper enfiled by a circlet Or.<br />
