PARKER <strong>of</strong> Norwich, Norfolk, and later <strong>of</strong> Lambeth.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Gules a chevron between three keys Argent.<br />

Crest: (as granted by Cooke, Clarenceux, May 28, 1572, to Sir John Parker <strong>of</strong> Lambeth, son <strong>of</strong> Matthew Parker, d. May 17, 1575,<br />

Archbishop <strong>of</strong> Canterbury.) An elephant head couped Argent, tusked Or. * The Archbishop, (who was the son <strong>of</strong> William Parker, the son <strong>of</strong> John<br />

Parker, the son <strong>of</strong> Nicholas Parker, Registrar <strong>of</strong> the Prerogative Court <strong>of</strong> Canterbury, all <strong>of</strong> Norwich) was granted an augmentation <strong>of</strong> three<br />

estoiles on the chevron, May 28, 1559, but in a grant <strong>of</strong> a crest to his son Cooke confirmed the original unaugmented coat. (SAC ii 205-6)<br />

Motto: Mundus transit et concupiscentia ejus.<br />

PARKER <strong>of</strong> St. Saviour's, Southwark.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: A chevron between three stag heads cabossed.<br />

From the monument in St. Saviour's Church to Phoebe, (d.Mar 26, 1752), daughter <strong>of</strong> Laurence Parker <strong>of</strong> Southwark, and wife <strong>of</strong> William<br />

Grubbe <strong>of</strong> Potterne, Wiltshire. (SAC xxii 24)<br />

PARKER Elizabeth Stringer, widow <strong>of</strong> Edward Stringer <strong>of</strong> Haling, Croydon, (dsp 1710), married, (ii), William Parker and Haling<br />

descended to their son William Parker, whose widow carried it into the family <strong>of</strong> her 2 nd husband William Hamond. (VCHS iv 222)<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Or a buck trippant Gules on a canton <strong>of</strong> the first [sic] a ship Azure. (BGA)<br />

PARKER The Hon. Nigel Ge<strong>of</strong>frey Parker, BA (Cantab), <strong>of</strong> Combe Lane Farm, Wormley, Godalming, (b.1931), son <strong>of</strong> the Hon. John<br />

Holford Parker, BA (Cantab), (1886-1955), and grandson <strong>of</strong> the 3 rd Earl <strong>of</strong> Morley, (1843-1905). He was granted the style, rank and precedence<br />

<strong>of</strong> a younger son <strong>of</strong> an Earl, 1963.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Sable a stag’s head cabossed between two flaunches Argent.<br />

Crest: A cubit arm erect couped below the elbow the sleeve Azure cuffed and slashed Argent in the hand a stag’s attire Gules.<br />

PARKER Baron Parker. Sir Robert John Parker, PC, MA (Cantab), <strong>of</strong> Aldworth, Haslemere, (1857-1918), a Lord <strong>of</strong><br />

Appeal in Ordinary, 2 nd son <strong>of</strong> the Rev. Richard Parker, Rector <strong>of</strong> Well-cum-Claxby, Lincolnshire, (1809-87), was created a Life Peer as Baron<br />

Parker <strong>of</strong> Waddington <strong>of</strong> Waddington, Yorkshire, 1913. His 3 rd son the Hon. Sir Hubert Lister Parker, PC, Lord Chief Justice <strong>of</strong> England,<br />

(b.1900), also created a Life Peer as Baron Parker <strong>of</strong> Waddington <strong>of</strong> Lincoln's Inn in the Borough <strong>of</strong> Holborn, 1958, was at one time <strong>of</strong><br />

Couchmore House, Esher.<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Vert a chevron between three stags' heads cabossed Or.<br />

Crest: A stag trippant Proper gorged with a collar Vert.<br />

Supporters: On either side a bowman <strong>of</strong> the 15 th century habited and accoutred Proper. (NEP; FD7)<br />

PARKER- JERVIS Evelyn St. Vincent Parker-Jervis <strong>of</strong> Arbrook, Esher, (1883-1957), was 3 rd son <strong>of</strong> William Robert Parker-Jervis,<br />

DL, JP, <strong>of</strong> Meaford, Stone and Park Hall, Longton, Staffordshire, (1841-1919), and was descended from the 2 nd Viscount St. Vincent, (1767-<br />

1859).<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Quarterly, 1, Quarterly, i and iv, Sable a chevron Ermine between three martlets Or (Jervis); ii and iii, Gules a chevron<br />

between three leopards' faces Or (Parker); 2, The same arms <strong>of</strong> Jervis; 3, Erminois on a chevron between three roses Gules two swords in<br />

chevron Proper pommels and hilts Or their points crossing each other in saltire the dexter surmounting the sinister (Ricketts); 4, The same arms<br />

<strong>of</strong> Jervis by inheritance; 5, Per chevron Sable and Argent in chief three leopards' faces Or (Swynfen); 6, Azure crusilly Or two organ-pipes<br />

chevronwise <strong>of</strong> the last (Pipe).<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Argent a cross Ermines between four stags trippant Proper, on a chief Gules three crescents Or.<br />

Crest: A demi-griffin rampant couped, wings endorsed, Sable, holding in his dexter claw a cutlass Argent pomel and hilt Or.<br />

As borne (SV1623) by Robert Parkhurst <strong>of</strong> Shere, son <strong>of</strong> Thomas Parkhurst <strong>of</strong> Shere; and by Henry Parkhurst <strong>of</strong> London, grocer, (who had issue<br />

London, clothworker, all sons <strong>of</strong> Henry Parkhurst <strong>of</strong> Guildford, 2 nd son <strong>of</strong> Thomas Parkhurst <strong>of</strong> Shere.<br />
