PETO Sir Ge<strong>of</strong>frey Kelsall Peto, KBE, <strong>of</strong> Old Rectory House, Wimbledon, (1878-1956), was 2 nd son <strong>of</strong> William Herbert Peto,<br />
(1849-1927), and grandson <strong>of</strong> Sir Samuel Morton Peto, 1 st Bart., (1809-89).<br />
<strong>Arms</strong>: Barry <strong>of</strong> six per pale indented Or and Gules two annulets in fess all counterchanged.<br />
Crest: On a rock Proper a sinister wing Or charged with three annulets in chevron Gules.<br />

PHILIPS The Rev. Edward Philips, MA (Oxon), <strong>of</strong> The Long Close, Hollington, Staffordshire, (1832-1921), descended from<br />
Nathaniel Philips <strong>of</strong> The Heath House, Staffordshire, (1659-1737), and his wife Elizabeth, daughter <strong>of</strong> John Stubbs <strong>of</strong> The Shaw, Staffordshire,<br />
had issue, amongst others, a youngest son the Rev. Ralph Oswald Philips <strong>of</strong> St. Mark's Vicarage, East Street, Walworth, (b.1893), a 5 th son,<br />
Captain Harry Vaughan Philips, MBE, Northumberland Fusiliers, <strong>of</strong> Dolphins, Englefield Green, (b.1881). The latter married, 1911, Marjorie<br />
Barabel Ruth, daughter and coheir <strong>of</strong> Sir Lewis McIver, 1 st and last Bart.<br />
<strong>Arms</strong>: Quarterly, 1 and 4, Per pale Azure and Sable within an orle <strong>of</strong> fleurs-de-lys Argent a lion rampant Erminois ducally crowned<br />
and holding between the paws a mascle Or a canton Ermine (Philips); 2 and 3, Gules on a bend Argent with cotises engrailed Ermine between<br />
two pheons <strong>of</strong> the second three stags' heads cabossed <strong>of</strong> the field (Stubbs). *<br />
Crest: A demi lion rampant Erminois collared Sable ducally crowned Or holding between the paws a fleur-de-lys Argent within a<br />
