(Cantab), <strong>of</strong> Pagoda House, Richmond, Treasurer <strong>of</strong> Lincoln's Inn, (1775-1855), who had issue, amongst others, besides a 3 rd son Sir Charles<br />

Jasper Selwyn, PC, MA, LL.D (Cantab), <strong>of</strong> Pagoda House, (or Selwyn Court), Richmond, (1813-69), Lord Justice <strong>of</strong> Appeal in Chancery, a 2 nd<br />

son the Rt. Rev. George Augustus Selwyn, KCMG, MA, DD (Cantab), (1809-78), Bishop <strong>of</strong> New Zealand, 1841, and <strong>of</strong> Lichfield, 1867-78,<br />

from whom descends the present representative <strong>of</strong> the family, Major John Jasper Selwyn, MC, 13 th /18 th Hussars, <strong>of</strong> The Orchards, Pinckneys<br />

Green, Berkshire.<br />

Hon. Sir George Hamilton Seymour, PC, GCB, GCH, (1797-1880), was descended from Francis, 1 st Marquess <strong>of</strong> Hertford, (1718-94), as are also<br />

Hugh Francis Seymour <strong>of</strong> 7 Warren Road, Guildford, (b.1926), son <strong>of</strong> Sir Horace James Seymour, GCMG, CVO, <strong>of</strong> Bratton House, Westbury,<br />

Wiltshire; Major Christopher George Seymour, 10 th Hussars, <strong>of</strong> Pamplins, Bentley, Farnham, (b.1913); and Michael Henry Seymour <strong>of</strong> 6 Lynton<br />

Court, Cedar Road, Sutton, (b.1912). The Rev. Lord Victor Alexander Seymour, (1859-1935), 4 th son <strong>of</strong> the 5 th Marquess <strong>of</strong> Hertford, was<br />

Rector <strong>of</strong> Carshalton, 1884-1901.<br />

elder son <strong>of</strong> the Rev. Richard Seymour MA (Oxon), Vicar <strong>of</strong> Chittlehampton, Devon, (1877-1959) and descended from Admiral Sir Michael<br />

Seymour, 1 st Bart., KCB, (d.1834). Of the same family, Ernest Victor Culme-Seymour, MA (Oxon), <strong>of</strong> Lea Gate House, Bramley, (1887-1949),<br />

was 4 th son <strong>of</strong> Major Henry Hobart Culme-Seymour, JP, MA (Oxon), (1847-1920), and grandson <strong>of</strong> the Rev. Sir John Hobart Culme-Seymour,<br />

2 nd Bart., (1800-80).<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Azure a pair <strong>of</strong> wing conjoined in lure palewise surmounted by a naval crown Or on a canton Argent an anchor Sable.<br />

Crest: On a naval crown two brands in saltire inflamed at the ends Proper thereon an eagle rising also Proper looking at a sun Gold.<br />

son <strong>of</strong> Godfrey Seys, JP, <strong>of</strong> Wirewoods Green, (1859-1905).<br />

<strong>Arms</strong>: Sable a chevron between three spearheads embrued Argent in chief point an estoile <strong>of</strong> six points <strong>of</strong> the last.<br />

Crest: On a mount Vert a wolf passant Argent holding in the mouth an arrow Proper.<br />
