sex really does heal!”
This testimony should give hope to those lovers whose romantic
advances are constantly thwarted because of the
dreaded statement, “Not tonight, dear. I have a headache.”
The next time you hear that lame excuse, simply say, “Darling,
I’ve got just the thing for you!”
An extra bonus from having sex if you’re a diabetic is the
surge of prolactin you get from orgasm. We’ve shown that
prolactin is a stimulating factor for the immune system, but
it is especially helpful in reducing elevations in blood glucose
(sugar) levels in persons with type I diabetes, according to
studies performed by the Department of Medical Cell Biology,
Uppsala University in Sweden.
Sex Heals Vision Problems
Reduced levels of oxytocin can cause pain so severe in the
posterior eye that only narcotics provide effective pain relief.
A decrease in oxytocin levels can also cause problems with
intermittent blurring of vision. But when synthetic oxytocin
is given to patients suffering from this malady, their vision
is sharpened. Since oxytocin is released during orgasm, this
certainly doesn’t lend any credence to the old wives’ tale,
“Don’t play with yourself or you’ll go blind.” And you won’t
have to start shaving your palms, either!
Sex and Diabetes
Many diabetics suffer from some type of sexual dysfunction
such as fatigue, vaginitis, decreased sex drive, decreased
vaginal lubrication, longer period of time to reach orgasm, impotence,
or frigidity. The ironic thing is that sex can actually
help keep insulin levels in check and improve these conditions,
along with many others associated with diabetes.
“Excuse me, honey, could you jack
off on this annoying rash, please?”
Forgive me if I get on my soap box for a few paragraphs….
Did you know that in the past decade there has been a 70%
increase in the occurrence of type II diabetes? Probably not.
Diabetes is a silent killer, and unfortunately most people just
seem to accept it because they think there is little they can do
about it. Type II diabetes occurs later in life because the person
ate too many starchy carbohydrates and sugars, which
made their insulin levels rise too high and too quickly, eventually
causing their bodies to become insensitive to insulin.
Type I diabetics have a genetic factor causing them not to
produce enough insulin. Insulin is one of the most important
hormones in our bodies because it transports blood sugar to
cells to be used for energy.
Now, class, what’s the best way to naturally increase your
oxytocin and prolactin levels? Anyone? Yes! Have orgasms...
and lots of them. Well, at least two or three a week.
Sex is also a great way to reduce your risk of diabetes because
of the exercise it provides. JoAnne Manson, MD, assistant
professor of medicine at Harvard, analyzed health and
exercise data from the ongoing Nurses Health Study and
found that exercises, such as mattress surfing, performed
just one day a week can significantly reduce the risk of diabetes.
Glenn Gaesser, PhD, an associate professor of exercise
physiology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville,
found that even a leisurely lap or two around the typical mall
significantly decreases insulin resistance. He further stated
that a few modest walks a week can reduce insulin needs,
possibly allowing people with type II diabetes who take insulin
to get off it altogether.
Don’t you think you could work up just as much of a sweat doing
the horizontal bop as you could walking around the block?
And most people aren’t rewarded with rushes
of orgasmic pleasure (not to mention the extra
health benefits orgasms give us) while strolling
around the block.
Sexy Smile
Someone sent me an email that listed the top ten reasons
to make love. One of them was that kissing increases your
saliva content and therefore cuts down on cavities and plaque
build-up. The list didn’t mention anything about cunnilingus
or fellatio, but I can’t think of many other acts that make us
salivate more. Can you?
In addition, vaginal fluid has immune-enhancing properties,
and semen contains muscle-building protein and energy-giving
fructose. Of course, you would have to drink at least a gallon of
semen to receive optimal benefits. Baby steps, baby steps....
Aside from how we poison our bodies with sugar, the point
I’d like to make is that as long as diabetes is on the rise, for
our health’s sake there should be a rise in sexual behavior,
too. A study by the US Department of Agriculture showed
that as oxytocin levels decrease, so does one’s sensitivity to
insulin. Inversely, as our oxytocin increases, our bodies become
more sensitive to insulin.
Sexy Skin
Hopefully, you put enough energy into your lovemaking sessions
to work up a good sweat. Sweating helps to cleanse
your pores and make your skin glow. The hormone estrogen
is also increased in men and women during sex, which helps
to keep skin smooth…and gives women their sweet scent. If
