Someentrepreneurs “received an income of about 70 million dinars”in one year, which is nearly U.S.$100,000 according to theofficial rate of exchange.In Yugoslav cities not only are there private industrialenterprises, private service establishments, private commerce,private housing estates and private transport business, thereare also usurers, who are known as “private bankers”. Theseusurers operate openly and even advertise their business inthe newspapers; one such advertisement runs as follows: “Aloan of 300,000 dinars for three months offered. 400,000 dinarsto be returned.
